Ringers’ Handbell Workshop

Who: Individuals, ensembles, and whole groups

Where: St. Paul’s Lutheran Family Church, 1201 Saliman Rd., Carson City,
NV
Cost: $20.00 per person, $30.00 after Oct. 11th (includes 2
pieces of music)
Bring: Gloves, folder, lunch (fast food is available nearby), comfy
shoes, bells, and pads

Schedule:

9:00-9:30 - check-in, set-up
o
9:30-12:00 - warm-up, technique, rehearse our pieces we receive that day
o
12:00-1:00 - lunch
o
1:00-2:00 - massed ring, technique, rehearsal
o
2:00-2:30 - concert; this includes any groups who want to play something
and the two pieces we’ve been working on that day (open to the public;
invite your friends!)
We would like to encourage soloists, ensembles, and whole groups to
share a piece (or part of one) during the concert portion of the
workshop. Substitute ringers will be available. Please share something
if you can; it makes it so much more special!
Not only do you get to work with Sue for only $20.00 and get to
meet, ring and share ideas with fellow bell ringers, but you will also
receive two pieces of music for the cost of the workshop. These two
pieces will be used for our Spring Ring in 2009 (date TBD). Imagine if
your whole bell choir came; you’d leave with 2 new pieces of music ready
to be performed the next Sunday! (Or the next concert if you’re a
school.)
Directions from US 395: Take the US-50 West exit (exit 39) in Carson
City and go right at the bottom of the ramp. Go a couple of blocks and
then turn left onto Saliman Rd. From MapQuest, it looks like the church
is on the corner on the left side and is very close to the high
school.
